I guess no one will tell you to buy those cheap Chinese projectors (but actually I'm using one, it's not bad as they said again and again many time). So if you come to this forum, you can receive ONLY ONE ANSWER. They always encourage you to save to get brand name projectors to have better experiences, but they don't know if you choose to do that, you may have to wait for a long time, maybe a year. People always tell you to choose brand name projectors, but they don't understand your budget is fixed at around below $300. I'm hoping theres something in the middle worth considering. The enthusiast in me feels like if I'm going to spend $250 on a crap projector like ( ) but thats getting expensive. In fact I'm about one second away from pulling the trigger on something cheap and dealing with the results knowing I didn't spend much. There's a lot of no-name projectors at my price point with unrealistic specs and no real technical reviews, I'm still tempted considering my use. Speakers are nice, bluetooth is better, line out will work. Most of my content is using Plex, native app support is nice but I'm prepared to use a roku stick so HDMI and one USB are probably a must. ![]() Big bright screen and enough native res to be watchable. I'm not really looking for a good projector but a solid performer in the ways that matter for outside movie nights. ![]() Im guessing its a safe bet that any measurably good projector with predictable performance will be outside of my budget. So I'm into HT but not projectors specifically. Usage (Movies, TV, Games, Sports, etc): Movies mostly, ideally casual gaming at 60hz How will you mount (ceiling, rear shelf, table)? Either table or tripod. Seating distance to screen: Very flexible. ![]() Screen Size: Bigger=Better but hoping for 200"+ĭistance from the back wall or preferred mounting position to screen wall: Outside so functionally infinite. Maximum Budget: looking for best Bang:Buck, <~$500
